Socially Distant Delray
TIME TO GET OUT
As we crawl out of the shadows of our homes/schools/offices etc. and venture cautiously back onto the streets, it can be somewhat tricky to navigate the landscape of the outside world now. From social distancing, to mask mandates and so forth, we’re all just trying to do our best to re-acclimate into society. If you’re anything like us, you’re looking for ways to get out of the house (responsibly, of course) in an attempt to achieve some semblance of “normal” again. A nice meal out is one way we have found to be very helpful. Here are a few of our Downtown Delray favorites who are back at it… in a socially distant way, of course!
First up, El Camino.
Our favorite Mexican Soul Food eatery has reopened and is taking every precaution necessary to ensure a socially distanced dining experience. As you enter the hallowed halls of El Camino Delray, you will immediately notice the new look. They have installed dividers between each table, and the booths are now encased in wood-framed Plexiglas partitions. Menus have been replaced by scannable QR codes, and in the place of their famous bottle of hot sauce, each table is now equipped with a bottle of hand sanitizer. And while the look may be slightly different, the food is still perfection and the margaritas taste even better than ever!
Next, Elisabetta’s Ristorante.
This charming Italian restaurant, located in the heart of Downtown Delray on Atlantic Avenue, is serving up some seriously delicious food! Elisabetta’s offers plenty of space for diners to spread out, with two levels of indoor and patio seating. If you’re lucky enough to snag a spot on the upstairs outdoor patio, you’re in for a treat. The bird’s-eye view of Old School Square and Atlantic Avenue is unrivaled by any other downtown eatery and the ambiance is overflowing. Go for the decadent handmade pasta and stay for the charcuterie and wine!
